Wide application of hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC)

We all have some understanding of the application of hydroxyethyl cellulose in construction, daily chemical, oil extraction and other aspects. Recently, Xiaobian has seen many application fields of cellulose that we do not often mention. Above all cellulose ether is really soluble in life and participates in all aspects of life.

1. Agriculture

Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) can effectively suspend solid poisons in water-based sprays.

HEC can be used to adhere poison on the leaf surface in spraying operation; for instance hec can be used as a thickener for spray emulsion to reduce the drift of the agent, thereby increasing the effect of foliar spray.For instance hec can also be used as a film-forming agent in seed coating agents and as a binder in the recycling of tobacco leaves.

2.Fire fighting

Hydroxyethyl cellulose can be used as an additive to increase the coverage of fire-resistant materials, for instance has been widely used in the preparation of fire-resistant “thickeners”.

3. Casting

Hydroxyethyl cellulose can improve the wet strength and shrinkability of cement sand and sodium silicate sand subsystems.

4.Microscopy

Hydroxyethyl cellulose can be use in the production of films .Therefore as a dispersant in the production of microscopic slides.

5.Photography

Used as a thickener in fluids with high salt concentration for film processing.

6.Fluorescent tube coating

Used as a binder and a stable dispersant for fluorescent agents in coatings for fluorescent lamps.

7.Plating and electrolysis

Protects colloids from high and low electrolyte concentrations; hydroxyethyl cellulose promotes uniform deposition in cadmium plating solutions.

8.Ceramics

Can be use to formulate high-strength adhesives for ceramics.

9.Cable

Waterproofing agents prevent moisture from entering damaged cables.
